Okay consider the beans spilled. It is a wild ginger that is called a Torch locally. The torch part is about 1 1/2 feet tall and the individual flowers/blossoms are a bright bright red. This one is just about set to become compost hence the brown colour.

No Gingers grow about here but I have seen the flowers and should have realized that’s what it was.
